INVESTIGATIONS AND PROJECTS COMPLETED

During more than 25 years our laboratory has inquired into the environmental radioactivity. In our research we use, for the most part, original technique and equipment. We consider the most important and interesting of our numerous projects are the following.

  1. Equipment and methodic elaboration for measurement of the concentration of radioactive noble gases (radionuclides of the Kr and Xe) and 3T in the lower atmosphere (1962-1982.)
  2. The sequence of experiments on measurement of the concentration of the radioactive noble gases and 3T in the lower atmosphere (1962-1992.)
  3. The development of the airborne gamma-spectrometry system (AGSS) based on semiconductor Ge and scintillation Nal(Tl) combined detector unit. AGSS was intended for gamma-radiation sources search and their characteristics investigation (1980-1983.)
  4. The operative research (using airborne gamma-spectrometry system) of the USSR European territory gamma-radioactive contamination caused by Chernobyl accident (1986-1987.)
  5. The development of the airborne gamma-spectrometry system with a multi-detector unit based on semiconductor Ge detectors for environment radioactivity research using remote technique (1989-1991.)
  6. The airborne gamma-spectrometry research of the territories of Semipalatinsk Test Site (1989-1990) and Novaja Zemlja Islands South part (August - October 1995) radioactive pollution after nuclear tests stop.
  7. Participation in the Soviet-American experiment on board “Slava” cruiser: sea launch missile nuclear war-head gamma-radiation measurement (July 1989.)
  8. Development of the low background gamma-spectrometry system for the laboratory radionuclide analysis of the environment samples from nuclear power industry areas (1991-1994.)
  9. Ecosystem gamma-radiation radionuclides and 3T content investigation for Kolskaja, Kalininskaja, Kurskaja, Smolenskaja, Bilibinskaja, Novovoronezhskaja and Voronezhskaja nuclear power plants (NPP) (1990-1997.)
  10. The investigation of the natural and artificial radioactivity of construction materials used in Moscow region (from the beginning of 1993.)
  11. Development of the equipment and technique for the measurement of the 3T content in the nuclear power plant area ecosystem water component (1994-1995.)
  12. The investigation of the Moskvorechye District radiation environment condition caused by long-term operation of the IRT-2000 reactor in MEPhI (1997-1998.)
